ADAM RODRIGUEZ
About Me
I was born and raised in the City of Angels. LA will forever have a place in my heart and will always feel like home whenever I return to visit. After high school I attended UC Davis. Going into college I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to study. All I knew was that I had a full-ride scholarship from the US Army and I'd figure out what I wanted to study when I got there. After a couple quarters I found what I found most interesting to this day, Economics. Anyone who knows me personally knows about the joke that I am capable of working Game Theory into almost any conversation. Unfortunately my military career before it ever really started. Much to my chagrin and to my parents delight it was at that moment where my journey pivoted from that of Army Officer to that of a Wine and Spirits Professional. Instead of going off for military training I instead was destined for my first harvest producing delicious Spanish style wines in the Dunnigan Hills AVA. From that summer on I knew that my destiny was in the alcohol industry and not waging war.
Interests
Growing up in LA it was only natural that I would become a die hard LA sports fan. Raised on a healthy dose of 80s and 90s Alternative I was fully immersed in music at a young age. I've been playing guitar most of my life and as a kid the trumpet was my instrument. In hindsight the trumpet was probably not the best choice for an asthmatic. Going to concerts and festivals often with my mother to shows such as Jane's Addiction and Rage Against the Machine with my dad formed core memories in my childhood.
California has the greatest culinary scene in the country. Feel free to land your argument on deaf ears. My love of food began long before my days in Napa Valley. From hidden gems all over LA, SF, and Sac to the street tacos in every corner of the state, I still crave my favorites from thousands of miles away.
I was fortunate to have parents who love to travel and instilled that same love in me. We've traveled all over the country and abroad and I look forward to continuing to explore the world. My dad and I are avid backpackers and try to take at least one big trip a year. Climbing peaks will always be my favorite activity but the beauty of Zion will always have a special place in my heart. Next up is summiting Aconcagua and backpacking through Patagonia.
